how long did it take to stop hurting??? its so painful.

For me, it never hurt. Asher had a perfect latch from the beginning.

You may have a latch problem..Did any of the nurses help you in the hospital?

A week or so. Make sure LO is latching correctly.

After I got him weaned from the nipple shield, about a week. How old is LO? Make sure they've got a proper latch.

I really dont think he is latching right, how do I tell?
No nurses helped me, bc at first, it didnt hurt.
Im seeing a lactation consultant next week but I don't want it to hurt until then, ugh.
Im terrified of pumping, bc with my daughter that hurt too.

The LC will help tremendously. When I do pump, I spritz the part that goes on my breast with a little water so that it doesn't pull the skin and make it uncomfortable. Maybe try that.

make sure you do not have thrush! I had it and it really hurt. Is it just your nipple or do little pains shoot up through your breast?

shoots up through my breast. did the same thing with my daughter.
the nipple hurts badly too, i have horribly sensitive nipples.
but the pains shoot also.

When the pain was shooting up my breast I had thrush and it was awful. I had to get on medication to get rid of it. When are you seeing the LC? You and baby will have to be treated at the same time. IF that is what it is. Do the sides of your breast hurt at all when you aren't BF?

my entire breast is really tender bc my milk just came in today, they're huge, hard & firm. but other than the fullness, they dont hurt when im not breast feeding. ugh i really hope its not thrush. im seeing the consultant the 16th.

You may just be engorged then. Mine lasted for only a few days but seemed like forever!!!

yeah it is a pain. I hope you don't have it either. We had it like 5 times. No matter what I did to prevent it, it would come back. Finally when he hit 5 months we didn't get it anymore.

what is thrush? sometimes I get a shooting pain while he feeds,is it possible to only be on one side?
