Yes seriously. My friends who don't wear deodorant, refuse to use western medicine and use doctors I call dirty hippies. Especially if they wear patchouli..that stuff makes me gag

The "crunchy" refers to the stereotype of those who eat and advocate "crunchy granola." In some places, they stopped using the "crunchy" and just referred to the type as "granola."

It's what they were called when I was growing up, well the hippy part anyway, and it wasn't really considered a bad term.

I never really thought of it as a bad term either. But my bestfriend, the biggest hippy in the world, would get so pissed about it lol Which never made sense to me...she only listened to music from the 60's, everything she owned/used was made of hemp, she smoked pot, she didn't believe in shampoo/soap/deodorant, she went to drum circles every week..I mean...if that isen't a hippy what is?! I started referring to her as a Noppy to make her feel better.

lol I used to work in a bakery, so of course, it always smelled yummy. One day, one of the women that worked there was talking to her daughter. When her daughter left our boss came out from the back and said "WTF is that smell?! My god! Did you open up a container of spoiled milk or something? Smurf that stinks!"

The woman said "Ummm, that was my daughter. She uses patchouli oil......"

I wear it constantly. I love patchouli, my friends - however, can't stand it. Some lady at work looked at me and asked me why i would want to smell disgusting.
