Military breakfast for our deployed troops are cut

This photo is going around my facebook right now. People are understandably outraged at the thought while some are justifying them not getting a meal for breakfast. I will say I'm upset. My husband is currently deployed. He is at a very small base in Afghanistan where he doesnt even have a place to buy soap if he needs it, he has to wait for me to send it to him or biweekly a traveling shop like an ice cream truck comes by to sell necessary items and now meals are being cut. I just cant imagine...this is how our military is treated

NOT okay with that at all. But then again I'm not okay with 99% of what our govt is doing lately

If this is true it's smurfed up. I just talked to someone who's in Afghanistan and another person who is currently in the Pacific (he can't tell me where) and neither of them are having these issues where they are. That's not to say it can't happen.

What I want to know is, our military budget is WAY too high... It accounts for a huge chunk of our money yet things like this are happening. What the smurf are they spending all of that money on if not the service members and their families?

I'm not happy about the Congress pay raise for more reasons than this, really.

I think the govt is awful with a budget. I'm sure there's plenty of wasteful spending going on in other parts of the military budget that could be used for food.

For sure. I agree with all of this.

Of course not. I just think this idea that military personnel are treated like smurf isn't true. We get an amazing amount of benefits to make up for the smurffy pay that lower ranking people get, base housing is usually good, we get to shop without having to pay taxes, we get to see the world, etc.

I was raised in a military family and married a Marine. I've never had any complaints other than the fact that they spend so much time away. As for how our families have been treated? Never had any complaints there either. The only HUGE issue I see right now is how vets are treated once they get back. I think we're doing a smurffy job of treating PTSD and caring for disabled personnel. No vet should be homeless after serving our country.

and I can definitely agree with that. I don't know where the disconnect is with that situation, I'd like to see a huge change.
