Shell grow out of it in her own time
My almost 2 yr old now only wants his blanky for bedtime but my 4 yr old was carrying his around until he was 3.5
Now he just has 2 puppy teddies that he sleeps with. His nan gave him 1 they bought on a holiday and 1 that was SO's when he was a baby lol everytime I wash it I'm scared it will fall apart (it's 31yrs old)

There's nothing wrong with it! It's quite normal and healthy for kids to get attached to a certain blanket or toy!

It doesn't bother me at all.

There seems to be a bit of confusion. If I didn't want her to have it, I would have taken it. I know she is attached and needs him. All I was asking is when do kids usually stop needing their comfort objects.

Ya I guess it was easy to get confused cuz you said you hate that you've let her get attached and that you've almost thrown it away.

I had my blankie til I was 20, I'm sure by 2 some kids have grown out of it...everyone is different.

For my son, he only sleeps with it now and no longer carries it around with him all of the time. He's just about 5. I'm guessing within the next couple of years, Yucky will be retiring.   But whenever he gets really upset, he still runs and gets Yucky.

I feel like it's my fault that she is attached. I feel like I've let her become dependent on him. She can't go in the car without him, can't go to sleep, can't sit on the potty, take a bath. The lamb must be present. Lol.

My husband still sleeps with his baby blanket every night >.< Smurfing hate it, it's scratchy and smells weird even when I wash it lol He claims it's just useful to cover his face with when the sun comes up or whatever but it's cause he needs it.

My daughter is attached to something new every couple days, lol, but she always needs something with her...hopefully this isn't an indicator of future relationship patterns.

My daughter is almost 5 and still has her "ducky" (blanket). She went through a phase of taking him everywhere, but now she is OK with leaving him home. But when we are home she likes to have him around. I don't have any issue with it. It's a comfort for her, and I won't screw with my kids' comfort.

I slept with my baby blankie until I was married. I turned out OK, lol.

i dont see whats wrong with it. when i was little i had a blanket i took everywhere with me until i started elementary school.
i also had a teddy bear that had to be in my bed when i when to bed until i was 10 or 11. he is now in my daughters room.
my daughter is 2 1/2 and very attached to the pillow that came with her nursery bedding. that thing has to go everywhere with her and it has like drool stains an everything on it.
nothing wrong with that IMO especially not at that age.
