That's true. I had mine pierced for 9 months, I had to take them out for surgery (took 3-4 hours) and I went to put them back in immediately and they were completely closed.   I had them repierced though.

I COMPLETELY fluked out and was able to get mine in after having them out for a few days after my surgery last year. I'd had them for years at that point and it was still a struggle. While doing radiation, I tried to just remove the one and put it back in after every treatment, but then it got infected, so I've only got the one done now. Boo
