Those of you who got an associates degree

What did you major in and what is your job now?

My AA is in elementary Ed. I have no job. I am currently a yr away from getting a BA in both elementary and special Ed.

Mine is a transfer AS degree in Engineering. Don't have a job ATM, but I still have two more years. It really depends on what field your going in. Two year degrees wont always yield a job.

I got my AS in Nursing. I'm a RN. I work on a cardiac unit in a hospital.

I have an AS in Culinary Arts. I am a caterer/ chef de partie at a private country club.

AA in graphic design and visual communications. I currently dont work but I worked for over 8 years as a Senior Graphic Designer

I have 2. My first in Business Administration, my second in Nursing. I'm an RN, but due to the hours I had to work in the hospital, I now work as the office manager for my DH Chiropractic clinic.

I thought about that . I like child development so I could become a teacher but I know you need a bachelors for that and I just want to get an AA or AS since im already about to be 26. The nursing I like because you only need an AA but there are just so many requirements at my school to get into nursing and all classes are about 5 hrs long for one class, and since I have to pay rent I really dont have the time.

i will have my transfer AA at the end of this semester. not really a special job or career i could get with it besides more of a starting pay at an otherwise minimum wage job.

don't let your age stop you from getting an education or setting/making goals.

A lot of places requirea BS in Nursing. I got lucky. I'm about a year away from my BSN. I'm taking a break right now.

I'm working on my AA with my post-transfer major being elementary education.

Obviously, I intend and hope to work in an elementary school.

You can do it. You really have to be determined. I'm about to get into a BSN program. Its my first time being in school with children and I also plan to be working full time as well. I'm nervous but I'm not going to let that deter me. Check out the nursing schools in your area. If you need to take some core classes for prereqs, do them at an local community college. You have the option of doing them online and going in for tests/labs/classroom discussions. It will open up your schedule more, you know?

The community college I went to had its own medical campus as well. I did my prereqs online through the college. The nursing school also had the option to complete an accelerated nursing program. I didn't choose that path but definitely do your research.
