Inducing at 35 weeks due to health concern

posted 13th Jan
My sister is 35 weeks & 2 day pregnant. Her blood pressure has been an issue since her 28th weeks along with having low potassium and a kidney leaking. This is her 3rd baby and her doctor wants her to be "sterilized" to save her life. Our hospital isn't equipped to care for infants born before 37 weeks, so once he is stable they are taking him to a hospital that is equipped to care for critically ill babies. in fact, her doctor refuses to send her away to a different hospital that can care for her and the baby before & after birth because she can't be sterilized there..so..PLEASE keep he & baby in your thoughts and prayers!!

That's sounds awful. They should be sending her to another hospital. Screw the sterilization right after birth. They can do it later on.

I wish her the best!

She can refuse what they are suggesting. Immediately sterilization is not more important than helping her and her baby now. They should be sending her somewhere else. Has looked into contacting a doctor at the different hospital? If the hospital they are going to do this at cant properly care for the baby then she should deliver in a safer environment.
