This, exactly. We were 1 month in when I got pregnant and now it's just been babies and marriage. No real time to ourselves to be alone and experience life just as a pair.

Thanks!

I'm in my school's transfer program. I didn't want to attend university so I started at a community college. They have the liberal arts transfer program so I'm guaranteed admission as a junior to any state university here as long as I maintain good academic standing. I have a 3.4GPA and I'm kind of bummed about it because I wanted to make honor roll.

Anyways, when I transfer, I'll be majoring in elementary education. My original desired major was molecular biology until I realized there was a lot of calculus.

The word biology just makes me shudder lol. There are some good schools in Wisconsin....I wouldve went to Marquette if they didnt give me such a hard time with the admissions process.

Hah, thank you! Just since last month. Unfortunately the marriage didn't start off well at all. I knew we'd have our problems and challenges, but I was hoping to have at least a few weeks of wedded bliss. :/

My DH and I started dating when I was 19, we got pregnant 4 months in and didn't get married until I was 23. I don't think i settled at all, but I do wish we could have had more time to just be a young couple together, travel make plans etc, before we started having kids. I think we were limited as a couple by having kids young.
But as far as he and I together go, I definitely didn't settle. He makes me a better person, he the most supportive partner a person could ask for and he continues to be my best friend. We've been together 7 1/2 years and married 3 1/2 and I still get butterflies when I see his name come up on my caller ID. I'm lucky to have found him young.

Biology on a molecular level is fascinating. I wanted to work in pharmaceutical research but math just isn't my strong point so I've decided I'd rather just teach little kids. It may not pay well but there are plenty of other rewards to teaching. I get a lot of joy from watching kids learn.

I think we should have spent more time as just gf/bf or even as fiances before actually tying the knot. Just to give ourselves some more time to build that a stronger foundation. Foundation is everything.

Me too. I've been with M since I was 16. I don't know how dating goes or anything like that.

Same here. Im thinking about going into school social work. Doing IEPs and just overall helping kids with issues outside of school adjust and function in the classroom setting.

Quoting Big Booty Heaux™:" Or did you? If you got married between the ages of 18-25 did you come to the realization that you "settled" ... [snip!] ... "the one"? (I said married, but if you have been in a long-term relationship between those ages I'd like your input as well)."

Can't speak for myself, but my mom sure did. She got married at 21.

I'd say for the vast majority of people, it is best to wait in their twenties and when they are finished with all of their education and know what they want out of life. At 18...21...most people don't know what is they want, and people change so much over time.

That said, there are exceptions to the rule.

I know I did. My ex and I were kids and instead of us growing together as a couple, we grew apart. I realized what I wanted in life, where I wanted to go, and who I wanted to be....and my ex is still in the process of figuring those things out.

Nope. I don't think I settled at all. I found the person that I was meant to be with, I didn't see any reason to wait to make everyone happy. Everyone thought I rushed things but I don't think so at all. I would have gotten married to him anyways, it was just a matter of what I felt was right compared to what everyone else thought
