Due Date problems
posted 13th Jan
So my due date is March 3rd I am 33 weeks as of today and our baby girl is showing no signs of coming any time soon (of course). I know it is wrong to rush the baby but my fiance (her father) is shipping out for the army on February 25th and will be gone for 6 months. I don't want him to miss the birth of our first child and I really want him there for support. I have been looking up ways to induce labor naturally from home but I have no way of knowing if they will actually work or not. Is it possible to have your doctor induce you around 36 weeks if the father is leaving for the military??

Uh you could ask.. But I really wound't recommend it..

No doctor will induce at 36 weeks. That's dangerous and extremely selfish. Also, any at home method you try will not work A MONTH before your due date. They are for women overdue and they dont even work then sometimes. Your baby will come when your body is ready. Don't do anything stupid.

My daughter was 36 weeks and went to the nicu. Let your baby cook. It's a sad part of military life but its not going to be the only thing he misses.

No no no.
I have nothing against induction, but that's just plain dumb sorry.
It will suck if he missed the birth, but life goes on, I promise.

I dont think a dr would induce for that reason. Even at 36 weeks baby isn't fully mature. I think the earliest they would even consider induction would be 39 weeks. I know you want him there but baby's health is more important

I'm sorry the dad may miss the birth but that's what ya sign up for when ya join the forces. I wouldn't try to induce or even ask. If there's nothing medically wrong most drs won't. But I agree with AP- the birth won't be the only thing he's gonna miss unfortunately.

Feb 25-march 3 is only like a week difference. I could see a doctor inducing you at 38 or 39 weeks *MAYBE* and the father wouldnt miss the birth. But not at 36 weeks.
