A babies brain doubles in size those last few weeks of pregnancy. That is why it is essential to make it to at least 39 weeks. 40 weeks is full term, but, since your due date is an estimation, it is hard to tell where the 40 week mark falls.

37 weeks is term.
40 weeks is full term.
