32 weeks today

posted 13th Jan
So I am 32 weeks today. My OB said that if I do not go into labor on my own by the time I am 39 weeks he is going to be scheduling a c-section to deliver my baby. Not sure what to expect with a sceduled c-section. I know that if I go into labor before 39 weeks it is going to be an emergency one. My OB is worried about letting me go with a VBAC because of hm having to deliver my son so early 3 1/2 years ago. If anyone has any advice for helping me prepare for a sccheduled c-section I would be thankful for any info that you can provide.

I don't understand why having a baby early has anything to do with a vbac?

Doc is worried about a ruptuture so we weighed everything, so we have decided to go with the c-section. The place where I am going to be giving birth is a smaller hospital/womens center. When I go back to see him this week I am going to talk to him again about trying for th e VBAC.

I don't understand either. I'm trying for a successful VBAC as well but I also have a scheduled c-section date? Why would he not let you go past 39 weeks? What's wrong with that?

Good idea! I had to press my doctor a little bit for the VBAC but the least you can do is try..

Well yes there's always a risk for rupture. Was your last an emergency, like did they have to do any strange cut or was it pretty basic?

If you do still go csection route if u went into labor they wouldn't have to do like an extreme emergency csection. Theyd just do it ASAP and not leave u sitting around. When I think of emergency csection I think of knocking you out and getting that baby out in the least Amt of time possible.

es my last c-section was an emergency. Baby boys heart rate would drop everytime mine would go up. They rushed me back and put me to sleep and took my little man. I was only 33 weeks and 3 days with him. He weighed 2 lbs 10 oz. But he never went to NICU. He was able to stay in my room after they done their initial tests in the nursery.
