Don't know what to do

I am 5 weeks pregnant. i became pregnant only three weeks after having an abortion. I am devastated because all I have wanted was to get married and have another baby. I am divorced and have been raising my son alone for 8 yrs. I began a relationship 1.5 yrs ago, this relationship was on the marriage path. I became pregnant in November, although it wasn't the ideal situation I was ready to accept however my bf thought it was not right bc we had many career and personal goals we had not completed. I didn't want the abortion but I didn't want to be a single parent again nor did I want to force someone into parenthood so I aborted. This hurt my soul and caused me to fall into a deep depression which I am still struggling with. Now I am pregnant again even though preventive measures were taken. Despite the struggles that lay ahead, I want to have the child bc I can't bear the feeling again however my bf has flip flopped again first claiming he wanted the child now saying that he thinks we should not have the child but stay together. I devastated but I already have one dead beat father in my ex husband and don't want to repeat. I will be depressed either way. I have no idea what to do!!

I don't mean to be insensitive but are you sure it's not just leftover pregnancy hormones?

Tell him a child doesn't stop him from achieving his personal and professional goals. It might change them but does not make them impossible. It's all how you look at it. He may get used to the idea. I agree I would not want to have an abortion after just having one.

But wait im confused about one thing. You're 5 weeks preg after 3 weeks? Or did u get preg after 3 weeks and are now 5 weeks preg? Meaning you had the abortion 8 weeks ago?

Because you aren't actually pregnant the first two weeks.

No I don't think you're missing anything....i was gonna ask that to. Did she mean she had the abortion 3 MONTHS ago, maybe?

it's possible. once you become pregnant, you're already 2 weeks along. my sister is in nursing school and told me about it. i forget how she explained the rest, but she told me that... so, she would have to have gotten pregnant almost immediately after the abortion, i think.

and OP, if you are pregnant, it is your decision what you want to do. if you don't want to go through another abortion, don't. if you really feel you can't have the baby, then maybe think about abortion again. but it's up to you. don't let your bf try to sway you into it so that he will stay with you. good luck in whatever you choose. i have been there too. i didn't get pregnant right away (it was 2 years later), but i knew that i couldn't do it a second time. but that was just me and my decision. good luck with yours!
