How can I handle this...

without hurting LO's feelings? He's three and still wants to climb on me, give me a million hugs and kisses, etc. and it's starting to be really painful because he's getting so big. How can I teach him to not climb on me without hurting his feelings? Is it even possible? I dont want to withold hugs and kisses but it's getting ridiculous. Is this just a phase?

I just tell DD that she's.to big to be climbing and that it hurts. Tell him if.he wants hugs he can ask for.them and.you'd be more then happy to give him all the hugs he wants

i would just explain that it hurts when he climbs on you. he's getting to be a big boy now. let him know you'll still give him loves, but you'll bend over, or get up to do so.

I tell her it hurts and that she needs to ask permission to climb on me first. When I am expecting it and can help hold her as opposed to being jumped on out of the blue, it is less painful.
