Yeah if they are pronouncing it like Jessica then I can see why it annoys you. The pronounciation is just like how it looks. Ye-ss-ica. It's a Spanish version of Jessica.

I only wish it were, like I said earlier, my relatives seriously like it pronounces with the Y and not because it's a Spanish version.

I went to school with a guy name Jeremy and he was the sweetest guy. I always liked the name but not something I would use.

Evangeline. I may have kind of liked it at one point, but now it reminds me of Nanny McPhee -_-
