am i bad for doing this

i got 3 gift cards for the movies from xmas.. 2 $25 and 1 $20 one. we dont goto the movies that often... and if i take cameron i like going during the day when other kids are in school, cutting down the ticket prices. well i was going to sell one of the gift cards but my stepmom flipped out on me pretty much saying how horrible i was for selling something someone gave me for xmas. i mean i didnt expect so many damn movie gift cards that will just sit in my wallet for awhile

there's a website where you can swap gift cards, i don't know what it is but i'm sure you could google it. how will your stepmom even know? not her gift, not her business what is done with it IMO.

unless you need the money, you can always re-gift them!

I kind of agree with your Mom. This is a pet peeve of mine. If you didn't pay for it how can you justify selling it? Id say regift it. Do you know a friend who maybe has kids who can't afford to take them out? I know I do this all the time. I know some others who could use something that I was given and will never use so I give it to them. Creates good Karma

Why would they pay full price for someone else's gift card, if they wanted one they'd go buy one. Lol

well she knows because i posted something on facebook asking if anyone wanted to buy a 25 gift card for 20 bucks.

It was given to you to do what you please with. Its not anyone elses business if you keep it, regift it, or sell it.
Do whats right for you.

What theatre is it for?

even after explaining to her i dont need $50+ bucks worth of gift card stuff to the movies she still thinks im rude for selling even any of them. heck even one of the damn gift cards is to a theater an hour away... and im not going to drive an hour just to goto the movies

i have 2 for rave motion pictures, and another for amc theaters which isnt even closeby :|

and the people who gave me the gift cards arent even on my facebook so its not like they know i wanted to sell any... except my dad who obviously told my stepmom since her parents and sister were one of the ones who gave me some of them
