How can I faten her up

posted 13th Jan
Hi, so DD is 6 months old. She is very active scooting around and trying to crawl. She has been teething since she was four months old and now has 4 teeth. She was born 9 days late and was 8 pounds and 21 inches. At her four month check up she wAs 25 percentile for her weight and 95 percentile for her height. Wasn't too much a concern because she has been on that curve since she was born. At her 6 month check up her height was 95 but her weight went down to under 15 percent wich was concerning because she only gained about a pound in a month. Last time we weighd her (week and a half ago at doctors) she was 13lbs. How can I get her to gain weight. She's been eating food since 4 months and we recently introduced meant peanut yogurt butter avacodo stuff like that but she doesn't like any of it an its such alight to feed her. Does any one know any really good fat foods that I can give her. She likes carrots so if she doesn't eat I result to give her carrots but they aren't vet high in calories. Please help! TIA

If her pedi is concerned, I would ask him/her how to "fatten her up"

Once ds started crawling he has gained a pound or less a month. But I wouldn't worry unless your dr is. Avocados are full of good fats! That's the best fatty veggie know.

DS was in the 50th percentile for weight and 95th for height. If your pedi isn't concerned I wouldn't be either. DS is just tall and skinny, just like his daddy lol.

She is formula fed. She doesn't have a lot of milk I try and give her that before food but now cus I'm stuffing her she has about 22-25oz on a good day

She told me not to Not to hold out on anything that's its okay. Just to give her a little bit and watch out for a reaction but she's good with it and I just mix it with other food. It's high in calories

quit stuffing her. you are going to make her sick and/or overweight.

You're doing it all wrong. Give her formula that needs to be her MAIN source of nutrition. Stop stuffing her with food, and your pedi is insane for saying peanut products.

no BABY needs to be on a high calorie diet. my son was 4 pounds 15 ounces when he was born, so he was put on a high calorie formula for 2 months. after that, he was just fed like a normal baby. i never tried to make him gain weight - he's 4 years old and weighs 29 pounds and the doctor is NOT concerned. he's like, 5th percentile. it's not a big deal.

i'm assuming her pedi didn't say peanut products were okay, she probably just told her to try different foods and OP assumes peanuts are okay.

and yes, formula/BM should still be her MAIN source of nutrition until 1 year, OP.

my suggestion would be to give her more formula than food.
if the dr isn't concerned though, i wouldn't be. my daughter was always little (in the 10th percentile). she's now 6 years old, happy & healthy.

also i thought you weren't suppose to give peanut products until 2 years old...or is it 1?
