RSV UPDATED under last post.

Can anyone tell me about RSV. My lo has been sick since September. We have had her in numerous times and they keep.saying just a cold.
We have done a chest xray back in November I believe, a month after they said she pneumonia. But after the xray they said she never had it.
At night she coughs so hard she throws up mucus all over. But does not wake up.
she stopped breathing in her sleep while coughing. She is just keeps coughing and coughing while piles of mucus, nothing else just comes pouring out of her mouth and nose.
This week alone we have been to the Dr's 3 times, just a cold they say.
So Iam wondering about RSV or any other ideas you may have.
The pediatrician only deals with prolonged medical conditions like disorders and mental health issues....not illnesses so don't suggest the pedi. He won't see her for that.
I have been going to the clinic cause we don't have a family Dr.

Either take her into the ER or to a different pedi, both my kids were sick last week and when we took them to see their pedi he said if they start breathing heavily or seem like they are having a hard time breathing then to take them back in because it could be RSV which is very deadly to babies. I'm just glad they both just had ear infections and they are doing much better now. There has been a lot of cases of RSV so I would just take them in, the clinic probably would do anything to help you or give you accurate results.

Can you ask them to test her for it? It's just a nose swab. My oldest had rsv but it was never that bad nor did it last that long. Could she just be getting back to back colds? Even if it was rsv they can't treat it so if they aren't currently treating her symptoms a positive rsv test probably wouldn't change that.

Take her to the ER, they will do more thorough testing.

Dd had RSV when h was two months old and had to be hospitalized for two days. It was scary because she was so congested she had a really hard time nursing and she would cough so hard she had a hard time catching her breath. I took her to the emergency room because she kept coughing and then having a hard starting to breath again. They swabbe her nose and throat and it came back positive for RSV. Sometimes steroid breathing treatments help it but not usually unless they have another respiratory condition like asthma or something, which she doesn't.
All they did in the hospital is observe her, there is no treatment for it because it's a virus that just has to run its course. You could ask them to swab and check her for it, but there is nothing you can do for its

Have they tested her for rsv? If is + there is not a lot to do other than let the virus run it's course. The dangerous part is if there are breathing issues...is your lo wheezing or working hard to breath? You can always get a second option. My lo is getting over pneumonia she is sleeping in my arms right now...I know how scary it is.

I would take her in and demand they test her. 3 of my kids had this before christmas. One of my kids was having a hard time breathing.

Its hard to separate her every day breathing issues she already has. Choanal atresia she has no nasal passages so breathing is always wheezing and horrible sounding.
But the coughing fits last up to 2-3 minutes at a time. Which I was just reading about and.sounds more like croup or whooping cough.
We have been to the ER with her they just said a cold. That's where they did her xray. Cause I thought she had pneumonia .. that's what a different Dr said but the xray showed nothing.
But runny nose cough since September

No pedi here treat illnesses. Only medical conditions like AR mental health low weight etc......
We only have 5-6 pedi in our whole city. Not everyone qualify for.a pedi. Pedi here don't even do vaccines.

My son gets croup every year at least once. Running a Cool most humidifier and letting him breath COLD air (like outside in winter) helps more than anything.
If its whopping cough (pertussis) it's a lot more serious and they really should be doing more to help. Has she been vaccinated for it? No judement if not I'm just curious.

My LO had this issue and was clear for rsv and the flu have them run the labs at a er or clinic anyway and if not ask about a nebulizer and seeing a pulminolagist....seems exstreme but my sons just congestion is solved now and has had every way for air to get in and out checked out so we can finally be assured and not keep hearing the escuse oh its a cold

i didnt read all the other post cause dd is about to wake up but we went through the SAME thing.. dd was sick for almost 2 months... they thought pneumonia, bronchitis, whooping cough... i couldnt get a straight answer. they tested her for everything, gave her xrays, blood work... i finally took her out of daycare and her and i both cleared up! i suggest getting a GOOD humidifier. not a vicks one or one you can find in the pharmacy isle. go to home depot or lowes and get a BIG one. dry air can cause respiratory issues.

Doesn't sound like RSV or a cold, sounds like the flu. I would bring her in too.
