Your mom is a terrible shot.   A goats head is pretty small - you'd think she would kill a goat even accidentally after 6 rounds....was she actually shooting it in the head? I can't fathom. I have grown up around farms & hunting. It isn't that hard to kill an animal at close range with 1 shot....and even if it takes 2, if she got it between the eyes it should be enough. I do know some people though have a tendency to actually shut their eyes when they shoot - both because they hate to do it AND because they fear the recoil...so maybe that is it?

Probably. She doesn't much like guns.

I killed my cat. It sounds bad but it wasn't. She was 16 and in a bad way. She couldn't even get up to use the bathroom anymore so I OD'd her on prescription sleeping pills. She fell asleep and never woke up.

I think people would (and probably do) do it inhumanely. I don't have a lot of faith in people I guess

I crushed them up and slipped them in some tuna. She ate it and soon started doing that "I'm fighting sleep" thing with her eyes. She fell asleep and I sat with her until she passed. It was very peaceful and for her, it was just like taking a nap. I cried the whole damn time. She had been with me since I was 9.

At the time, we couldn't afford the fee to euthanize so I did the best I could do. She was in pain when she moved and couldn't get up to use her litterbox.

I'd do it again if I absolutely had to but I'm hoping my boys (they're both 13) pass naturally. I'd also euthanize them instead of ODing them on medication.

I had to euthanize a mouse before...My grandmothers cat caught it and ripped it apart, the poor thing was still breathing and in pain so I put it in a bag and suffocated it   I felt so damn bad, but he was suffering and I couldn't stand it anymore....I still feel guilty....ugh.

No it would kill me,i would actually find a farmer, I have worked in an animal sanctuary for long enough to see suffering but i still couldn't do 'it' myself xx
