ultrasound?

When they do an ultrasound, and they tell you what the baby measures they do it off of the exact measure of the baby right like they don't add two weeks from your last period its just the gestational size. Like if you didn't know when your last period was

Are you talking like the estimated due date? They are going off of what the baby is measuring at that moment. Its generally not far off from the first day of your last period since thats when things start, but it can be off by a few days. For instance my conception date based off ovulation put me at Feb 1st, but the ultrasound put me at feb 4th. (Ive had another since then that put me at jan 19th and another at jan 13th - it just depends on the size at the time.) All of it is an educated guess in the end, more of a guidelone then anything else

I didnt mean to say like so much lol.

I'm at the hospital with cramps they gave me an ultrasound I thought I knew when my period was but I'm wrong. So I'm just assuming they told me how far along I am by the exact measurement of the baby

and yea thats what Id assume. If its different from the doctors you can always just use it as a guideline to it could happen between the two

if your unsure of your last period they go off the measurements of the baby. if you know your lmp and the babies measuring +/- 5days within the measurements of your lmp due date, they will keep your lmp due date the same and it will not change unless you were measuring a wk or more ahead of your lmp due date. hope u understand this and it helps. ive been through both sutuations. after my m/c i got preg right awayand they couldn determine my lmp so they went off babies measurements. with this baby, i knew my lmp and when they did the u/s baby was measuring 4days off so they kept my lmp due date instead of adjusting it to the babies measurements because it was within the +/- 5days range

i meant to put your lmp due date will not change unless your measuring a week or more ahead, or behind your lmp due date
