PP hair issues....HELP please
posted 12th Jan
I posted this on fb but maybe someone here would be more helpful. Ever since i had my daughter a month ago, my hair is unmanageable. I never had issues before but now its SO coarse and knotty i can barely brush it without crying. Its never been this texture and even after washing and leave in conditioner, its still horribly knotty and tough. Its always been really thick, its down to the top of my butt and cutting it short isnt really an option, although i do need a cut. Can anybody give any suggestions on what to use to make it soft again and less knotty. Its also got loose natural curls and I am wondering if long layers might help? Its all one length right now. If anyone can help me out Id appreciate it. TIA

sounds like you need need a good cut, go for 4 inches and layers, you dont have to go short.
Pregnancy hormones excrete through you hair. Cut out the parts effected, get a good deep conditioner and wash every 2-3 days to get some natural oils back in.

Its just that your body needs to readjust...takes a few months sometimes. Try mayonaise...natural conditioner. Apply let sit for 5 min then rinse.

I would definitely get layers. Also try a leave in conditioner. I suggest ITS A 10. I sell alot of it and use it daily. Also i would try a deep conditioning treatment. I prefer redken or kera care humecto (its made for ethnic hair after relaxers but its a blessing . U would have to call ur area salons for them tho. Idk where u are from but fantastic sams typically carry them. But layers and thinning it out will help to.

layers are your friend. I FINALLY did something with my hair the other day. Was driving me nuts. But I did get mine cut on the shorter side but extremly layered. It is way easier to handle and a lot less thick.

I have had afew women come to my salon with the same issues...I would recommend cutting afew inches off, longer layers would help...also investing in a good shampoo n conditioner would help...what's ur hair budget? Paul mitchel has a new line, wild ginger....the shampoo is very thick and rich, very conditioning..and the conditioner has keratin in it and helps put a lot of the moisture back in your hair..its kind of spendy though..they also make a deep conditioner to go with that product line, itshelped me and many people quite a bit...if you have any questions please ask :-) I'm happy to help!
