Baby doesn't like to sleep

posted 12th Jan
My daughter is almost 6 months old and lately she has been refusing to go to sleep. I have done everything from trying to nurse her to sleep to rocking her taking her for a drive playing music she hasn't even been taking naps. She will stay awake all until she has giant purple rings around her eyes I hate doing cry it out but one day I got so frustrated I put her in her crib and she started screaming I turned the light out and walked into the next room and 2 minutes later she was passed out. Since then that is the only way to get her down for a nap or bed or night. Any suggestions on how I can get her to sleep without crying. I have never let her cry for more then 5 minutes but I still hate doing the crying thing though it always works I want a better solution.

I had to do that with all mine. I tried everything. I had my mom telling me to do that. She is like they are fine to cry, but it killed me.

I know its terrible I hate it. Listening to her cry is awful but luckily its only usually for a few minutes. She is such a hard head when it comes to sleeping. She didn't sleep at all today she took 2 naps a 30-45 minute nap at my parents house and a 30 minute nap later that night then she passed out on the way home and finally slept when we got home. That was after a full night of not sleeping the night before

Honestly I know it sucks but just stick with the CIO method. It is a quick way to do it. Mine were all good after a week. But that is if you really do it. As in don't keep going in and checking constantly. Because they will do whatever to keep crying so that you come back. Once they learn that crying won't trigger you they just fall asleep and remember it next time. Trust me I KNOW it is hard, but it is worth it. Plus they never remember it, it isn't like I remember my mom doing that to me. lol I am trying to make light even though it is rough. I have done it with all mine so far (not intentional) so I plan on just going to it again with the rest. I honestly even as a stay at home mom can't spend hours trying to get them to sleep.

Exactly well it has already had an effect on her. She has started just laying down and going to sleep when I put her in her crib. She took 2 weeks to get to that point though. She still sometimes cries when I put her down for a few minutes but usually she will just go to sleep now so yay. Glad that nightmare is over lol
