I hate when people say that... Sometimes that's the case but other times, I'd hardly call a deadbeat "selfless"

I'm an optimist... I assume most people do their best to do what is best for their kids. I think that even though some, or most of the time when a parents signs all or most of their rights away it ends up being a way to shirk their responsibilities, I also believe that the decisions is usually made as an attempt to make sure their child has a stable, loving home. And I think positivity, not judgement, is the best way to keep that good will going. Just my opinion though

I heard something on NPR once where a bunch of men on a forum like trolled one of the "Smurfian prince" scammers. It was equal parts funny and really sad

So I'm late to this, and clearly missed the Prince. Lol. Anyways from my experience I usually assume the worst. SO' s ex lost custody. She is a drug addict who all of us would like to believe she's clean but don't know. She said she wants her and SO' s son to leave her alone. Until she fights with her SO. Then its all "he's my son" Which is true but she doesn't want to talk to him any other time. It's sad for the little boy. She lost custody of her first, put her second up for adoption so she could continue doing meth, after the second was born addicted to it. She now has another little one but its sadly a matter of time before her parents get custody so she can get high without worrying about the baby.
