Huh?

I'm almost two months postpartum. I haven't breastfed nor have I pumped since the second week of December. I've got a cold & from what I hear, breast milk can help baby fight off whatever I have. Well my oldest has a cough & runny nose so I decided to start nursing my DD & pumping so I can give my oldest BM too. Is it normal for my milk to be thin like colostrum after almost a month of no breast contact?

I wouldn't think it would be, but I don't know...

Thats foremilk...it is thinner and has more of the nutrients that baby needs. It quenches babies thirst. After a few minutes it turns to hindmilk...which is thicker and has the fat that baby needs, and makes baby feel full.

Oooh! Sorry I'm new to the breastfeeding/breastmilk bizniz. I guess I don't have to freak out now when I'm nursing my DD. Lol. Thanks for the info
