crab?

Somebody just posted about shrimp and it got me thinking. Is crab safe to eat during pregnancy? What about imitation crab?

It's fine.....

I lived on crab legs during the last few weeks of my last pregnancy. Both are fine! Enjoy!

As long as its properly handled and cooked its fine.

Woohoo! This just made my night.

The reason they warn to stay away from it is nexuses of salmonella. As long as any seafood is properly cooked, and handled and hasn't been sitting out for an extended period of time its safe to eat. They also warn again sandwich meat, because if it sits out it attracts bacteria. And buffets that don't refresh their food. But I've eaten tons of shrimp, lobster, sandwich meat and buffet dinners without once getting food poisoning. As long as you're smart about it you'll be fine. So enjoy your crab

yeah I had a craving for crab at some point in my pregnancy....went on over to red lobsters...and that was a 50 dollar bill!! ahahha I also ate lunch meat...they say not to but i ate subs all the time.

If I could I would live off deli turkey sandwiches with lettuce, cheese, mayo&mustard (or ranch).
Also I love the crappy Chinese food they have in malls, so I tend to get that when we go out shopping... the deep fried batter shrimp SO MUCH NOMS....

dammit now I'm hungry!!

i love turkey subs from country fair...with lettuce, onions, green peppers...mayo and honey mustard! i'm really hungry too

It's like anything else really, you just have to make sure that it is cooked properly so that you don't get salmonella poisoning.
