PT 2 year old

posted 12th Jan
My LO will be 2 on the 21st. I work and go to school full time. The only chance i get to PT her is on weekends. I tried today and it was a complete fail   I have some apps on my phone that will alert that its time to take her to try. Well all day today i would take her to try, after not succeeding many times she would just go on her self. I feel so bad because i am very over whelmed and i know she can probably sense it. She will be probably be starting daycare soon but i am iffy about putting her in one because she is not potty trained. I am guessing she is just not ready now. She has went once before and was so excited, i was hoping that she would catch on and keep going but no such luck. I even made a potty chart that shows her her success with stars. I really don't know what else to do

like you said she just may not be ready. what is the daycare like you might put her in? i know when cameron was in daycare they were great with helping to get him to be pt'ed and worked great with him... and maybe if she sees other children using the potty she may be like hey, i want to do that.

I am not sure yet, i have interest in a few i have to look at. I am hoping they potty train cause that would be a big help.

If you seriously want to PT her then don't go back to diapers. That will only confuse her. Just stick with the big girl panties and take her every 30-45 minutes. Whenever she has an accident say, "Uh oh, you're suppose to peepee/poopoo on the potty." (And point to her potty.)

We tried to PT at 23 and 24 mos. DD wasn't ready. At 25 mos she was trained in 2 days. Another month and she was night trained as well.

Good luck! Don't give up!

I PT my 2 year old when I was off for 2 weeks in between jobs. Maybe you will have more success during the summer when you are out of school? PT at 2 1/2 isn't so bad either. Don't feel bad she is not PT before you send her to school. Some 3 yr olds still get changed in my sons class.

Today we stuck to her big girl Dora panties as i call them lol. Before i did try pull ups but that was a waste. I was taking her every 15 -20 minutes, from 10 am till about now it just was not a success. I had to scrub my carpet so many times

I guess i am just being paranoid about sending her to daycare and having some else change her

If she's PT'd someone will still have to help her to the bathroom and probably wipe her....

well its gonna take wayyyyy more than one day just to even see progress lol sorry but its true
and alot of daycares will help you potty train during the week the way you want to
and once you have done this method a while if you dont like it or feel like it works for you an LO try some others I have seen a ton on pinterist that I cant wait to try...
I find teaching potty words btw super helpful in boys and teaching them early
just as a suggestion mabe since you already have a two year old sorry I cant tell you much about girls but all the girls I have raised came pre potty trained for the most part

I know the feeling. I thought I would be able to start working again when DS was 3 or 4 and PT by then. Not how it worked out! So I had to let someone else change diapers. It's not too bad! Good luck!

I hear ya. I didn't want anyone to change DD after she was born. I still check between her cheeks after she goes number 2 on the toilet when my MIL takes her.... MIL doesn't wipe very good.
