scared he is going to snap his neck

how do you get a 12 month old to listen to you, he has just woke up so i have brought him down stairs to settle him back off so he doesnt wake his sister, he has now put my duvet on the floor and is throwing himself on to it head first, he lands on his head then his body falls to the floor while his head stays where it is, he finds it hilarious and is giggling his head off, I have told him no, stop it, used a stern tone, raised my voice and tried to restrain him by holding on my knee to which he screams so i have to let him go as i dont want him waking up DD, i took the duvet away and he went to do it anyway, straight on to a hard wood floor so i pt it back so it was safer, please help me stop him

Redirect him, at that age it shouldn't be hard.

bring him elsewhere like sit him on the floor in front of some toys, distract him

offer him a snack? Food is an excellent distraction, maybe a piece of fruit?  

thank you ladies, i just offered him his dummy and now he has remembered its bed time lol, he is slowly drifting back off, i dont get how he can go from tired to hyper and then back to tired again so quickly
