I think its fine. My son sleeps in his over 1/2 the time.

I wouldn't leave her over night but a couple hours should be alright if you are right there. My brother's son fell out of his at 6 weeks but they weren't paying attention, think they were napping.

my doctor used to tell me that when LO was sick(he got his first stuffy nose at 2 months ) to put him in his carseat or swing because it would elevate his head so his nose wouldn't be as stuffy..but turns out LO liked sleeping in the swing regardless and I'd let him fall asleep in there and then turn it either off or on low after he fell asleep.

Shoot, that's the only way I ever got anything done when my daughter was a baby. You just don't want them to sleep in it all the time because then the baby gets used to only sleeping in that and not a crib. And if they keep their head turned only one way they can start to get a flat spot. But the swing is really a sanity saver sometimes!!

she used to lay down no problem but ever since about 11 months sometimes its the only way we can get her to sleep. That and turning on my little ponys i think i've seen every ep. >.>
