Do you mix feed?

posted 12th Jan
I don't know why I didn't think of mix feeding before, I always just thought either formula or breast only. I'm going back to school and work after baby, pumping would be impossible at my job, it's retail and they simply don't care. anyway if you mix feed, when do you formula and when do you breast feed? which do you do more? and did it cause any issues with wic?(they're the ones who suggested it to me)
Also do you use a certain bottle? we have mostly Dr. Brown's and a few playtex.

First thing. You job legally must allow you time and space to pump.
I mixed fed not because I wanted to but because I had no choice due to supply issues. I would nurse all day supplement at the end of a feeding if I needed to which was rare. She would get formula before bed and sometimes in the middle of the night. I used donor milk for the first 6 months but my donor stopped pumping. If you arent pumping at work it will hurt your supply so be prepared. As for bottles my daughter never had nipple confusion the NUK bottles was all she would take as a newborn and by 3 months she preferred the playtex vent air. Just make sure you nurse as much as possible when with the baby and any breastmilk is better than none. Best of luck.

Supplements such as formula will slow down your milk production, if you're using formula your body will thibk it doesnt need to produce as much. Also, your work has to allow you time to pump.

if you suppliment with formula and pump, your body will NOT slow your milk production. where BS website did you pull that crap from?
As long as she develops a pumping routine, her production will be fine.

In the OP she said she wouldn't be pumping because of her job.

Talk to your boss about it. Give them time to find somewhere or you could always go to your car if you would be comfortable there.

You are beyond annoying. And her supply WILL infact go down if she is supplmenting feedings while she is at work and not being able to pump.. know it all ha

Op if you can pump, your supply should be fine. They should have a conference room, or an employee room depending on where you work they can offer you.
