Oh man....so is it wiping that he's having a problem with? How do you do this all in public...does he pee on public potties too?

He just poops in his pants....no smurfs given. But he's never done it in public, he usually goes in the morning or at night. He pees standing up and he'll pee in any potty or even outside if we're in the woods or something lol. He pees like a champ, I don't know what the deal is with poop.

Thank goodness I'm not alone. I really hope he'll get it back down pat again. He was doing so great.
Is she in preschool or anything? DS is starting preschool in September and I'm so worried they won't take him and I'll have to spend another whole year being a SAHM.

Yup, I've heard of a lot of people having that problem. Kiki's cousin is the same. Like his parents are like "He's potty trained except for doing number twos". He'll pee fine, no problem....but he'll ask for his diaper to go poop in. Have you tried showing him the toilet after you poo?

No we're homeschooling. He has never pooped in the potty. Sigh. He has autism and took longer to pee train (he was 3.5) but when he got it he was done within a couple weeks. With poo he will just go wherever. Even in public. If I think he's about to poo at home I can get him to at least put on a pull up and go to the bathroom to do it. Positive step I guess?

Yeah, he gets the concept. Like I said before he had it totally down pat but he regressed over New Year's so it's back to square one. And I can't devote the time to sit and watch his behavior when he goes between all the housework and my clingy 6 month old.

Yeah as soon as you catch the signal, put him on the potty. The hard part is it's tough to catch the signal if he doesn't tell you and you have other kids/things to do. That's what I'm struggling with. DS isn't autistic but I think he has a memory problem. He has a speech delay and ODD too.

Oh man, I forgot about kids regressing. That's going to suck if that happens to Kiki cause both SO & I work crazy shifts...and then MIL has her inbetween sometimes so we'd all have to stay on the same page....which is practically impossible.

Oh no.   I don't even know why DS regressed, nothing major happened. But we were at my mom's and my mom lets him get away with murder so maybe that's why. I hope she's PT'd for good.

No he won't sit on the potty. The one time I got to him before he pooped he held it in for 2 days. He sat on the potty for a long time and it was a huge hairy deal with no results.

Can he tell you why? Did you show him how you poop? DS will sit on the potty and try if he and I both make faces and groaning sounds lol. But if nothing comes out I tell him we'll try again later.

He says he's scared. I don't know why because he can pee sitting down.
He can tell you that he's supposed to poop on the potty.
He can tell you that if he does poop on the potty he gets ice cream and a new truck.

He knows when he has to go because he will either hide or he'll ask for a pull up.

Hmm, that's tough. You can't really do much if he doesn't want to, since it'll just make everything worse and complicated.
My son says all that smurf too. He's gotten a ton of stickers when he was pooping on the potty, I never stopped giving them to him. He even put his seat over the toilet, pooped, wiped his own ass, and showed his father all by himself once. It's like he completely forgot about it at my mom's house. It's totally weird.

Yeah regressions are hard, I'm anticipating some regression when the new baby comes..so not excited.
