LO is crying too much

posted 12th Jan
LO use to be fine if I laid her on her play mat, put her in the swing, or whatever. All of sudden after 5 minutes if I am even lucky now she cry's when I do those things to occupy her while I try to clean. She is only content if I am giving her my full attention and/or laying down with my arm around her. I talk to her and she can see me when she is on the play mat/swing. I don't get, it the sudden change is stress full I can't do anything. When she cries I wait maybe a minute then go to her. Do I need to wait longer or something? Is she doing this because I go to her to quickly. I just don't like her to be crying ya know. I give her enough attention to feel secure but not enough to like make her clingy/spoiled. I don't clean for hours, I will wash dishes & bottles then I go play with her then I will vacuum then spend time with her again. Its not like its hours of her without my attention. 12 hours a day of this is nuts. I hope she goes back to her old ways were she was content without my attention. Does your LO do this? Can I change this? Am I not supposed to approach her as soon as she cries? I just don't know what to do but it can't stay like this.

How old is she? Maybe she's frustrated that she can't move yet? Maybe teething? My 6 month old is like this too. I have to hold or sit next to him otherwise he cries. /i think it's because he can't crawl yet but he's about to.

She's brand new. The world is a scary place, the only comfort she has is you. She's way to young for the CIO method. Find a good baby carrier/Moby wrap and cherish this stage. She's gonna outgrow it all to fast. She's just being a Newb, she needs you, momma.

I think its that too, she seems like she is getting frustrated. She loves when I hold her sitting up she gets so like irritated laying down. I am going to get a bouncy chair this weekend she seems much more happier sitting up.

Oh I thought she was like 5 or 6 months old.   She's probably gassy or colicky. Wear her or walk around with her until she's content. She needs to be "spoiled" at that age.

Yeah I don't believe in the CIO until much older if that. I just didn't know if maybe she is doing this because I approach her to quickly.

Wells he is on alimentum so if she is colicky wouldn't that help it a bit? Yeah it helps to walk around the house with her and soother her but then she gets a little fussy after I stop. Its like she all of a sudden wants my constant attention.

Dexter got like this for about a week when he was about 9/10 weeks old. But that was it, a week, and then he went back to normal and can quite happily sit there and babble at me while I clean. For that week when he was like it though, I just spent with him. always. Didn't care about the cleaning or washing up untill he was in bed or having a nap.

It's normal for this age to constantly want your attention. It's nothing that you're doing specifically.

you CAN NOT SPOIL A 8 WEEK old! Please know that! All they know is you, because they have been living inside you for their whole life. At first they don't cry as much because they are still learning about the world.

Also don't "let" your 8 week old cry to teach them not to be spoiled. If you choose to use the "CIO" method then you need to wait till the baby is old enough to understand it. 8 weeks is just not old enough yet.

A lot of babies are like this are your LOs age. Actuly I think all of them   that is why they call it the 4th trimester. The first 3 months after the baby is born they still want to be with you all the time.

If you can not get out of your chores the first few months then I suggest getting a baby wrap and wearing your baby while you do them.

Your baby will become more independent in a few months, you should try and enjoy this time as much as you can because it only comes once.

That's what I have been doing. I have just been giving her my attention.
