I couldn't handle dating someone online for years and years and never meeting them. I have met some people online that I have become very close with and maintained a valuable friendship with them for years without ever meeting though. Mostly because of video games.

  I met some people on World of Warcraft, we started a guild together and one night we found out that they lived like 2 hours away from us so they came up and stayed for a few hours and it was awesome and they come visit regularly. We've been best friends for a little more than 2 years now.

I have another friend that I also met on WoW but never met in person [mainly because she lives in canada.] and we've been great friends for almost 3 years and still talk regularly.

I met a good portion of mine on WoW too. But I chose a west coast server and they all live sooooo far away.
