breastfeeding question urgent please help

My son is 5 days old, and he had been breastfeeding just fine until today he goes to latch and puts his mouth on but won't latch he is pissed i don't know what to do he won't latch on to eat.

My son does that sometimes, I self express a little and have him latch on again, that usually works.

Did you give him a bottle or a paci? Just keep trying different positions. And try burping him.

Does he pull back on your nipple when he is getting mad?

For some reason my milk isn't letting down like it was yesterday I try to hand express but it won't only when he latches and i don't have a pump

Your letdown may be alot right now because your milk is finally fully coming in, try expressing some before nursing.

Is he eating more often? It could be a growth spurt. Also, are you staying hydrated?

My son does that sometimes too. It's usually because he can't get a good latch in the position he is in. As soon as I reposition him, he latches right on.

Not really but were not fully in A schedule yet since my milk just fully came in yesterday then today it feels low when i was engorged yesterday. He has gained 7oz in 2 days
And yes I've been drinking water like crazy

Yeah, i tried all of them, he finally just gave up and fell asleep from crying after an hour

Don't give up! Just express some and squirt a little in his mouth. If you are engorged it is difficult for him to latch. Keep trying and he'll eventually get it.

OP try this and try out some different latching holds. Look up the football hold latch and see if that helps. He is new to breastfeeding so he is learning as well as you :]
