My first day in this class the girls were talking about getting black out drunk and being sluts (literally) comparing who has more "kills." Most of them don't even wear clothing lol... Honest to God they wear those shirts that either are not complete (too short in the back or front) or have holes in it, and they do not wear tanktops under it.

I wear jeans, a tanktop, and sweatshirt and it's a good day if I bothered to straighten my hair. Basically I'm already at a disadvantage because I don't look like those girls, and then on top of that I'm the only parent so I care about other things lol.

I made a post a day or so ago about how they would not talk to me in class, but added me on FB while sitting beside me. Wtf aha this had better be worth the hardship lol

I agree, it's hard to have a real debate sometimes. On the other hand I don't think people on BG are sensitive to the fact that the members are coming from different places and cultures. For example, yesterday someone (who lives near me) said she didn't want her kid looking welfare. She got jumped on because "welfare doesn't mean you have dirty kids" etc. What she said was an expression/phrase used where we're from, and not to be taken literally.

I also find there are some topics that are "general consensus's" on here, like vaporizing pot while pregnant. In my opinion the research on the topic is not complete and it changes frequently, so I do not think it's okay. However you will never catch me saying that in a debate on the topic, lol.

Don't worry about them. I didn't finish my BA until I was 30, so I was a lot older than average and we had tons of those girls at my school, who wouldn't give me the time of day because I wasn't like them. But...uh...smurf them! I graduated at the top of my class, got a bunch of awards, and went on with my life. Seems like a lot of those girls (we have mutual fb friends) are still just as dumb and shallow, and still trying to find themselves years later. The fact that you have a kid means that you are already leaps and bounds ahead of them as far as emotional maturity goes, so just don't even worry about it. Keep your head up and enjoy the real friends you make along the way. And whenever you have to do a group project and you have any say over who is in your group, ffs always always ALWAYS pick the achievers. After a couple of years everybody wanted me in their group because I had more life experience and knew how to work hard, and I was hell-bent on being a straight A student. Soon they'll all probably be kissing your ass.

Lol! I have one friend in class, she's an outcast (a little weird) but she's at the top of the class. She said the girls pretended to be her friend last semester so she'd do their group work and when it came time to do the final assignment she said she was doing it alone, and they lost it on her.

Hanging out with her might make me an outcast but she's at least a good friend and intelligent lol. It sucks because I'm not comfortable doing presentations and it makes it even harder when everyone staring at you, doesn't like you lol.

Exactly... I just hate how there's no "debate" to be had on it. It's an "is what it is" topic lol
