Quoting loser mom:" I do, but I work in healthcare and am exposed to a lot of sick patients. My husband and LO did NOT ... [snip!] ... too late for you to get the vaccine. And if you're going to breastfeed, your baby will get all the antibodies you produce. "
Yeah, its bad this year. I didnt get the flu shot while pregnant. No one told me I should get it but I delivered in September. So when I took LO to the pediatrician's office for the first time, he was like "Why didnt you get it, it would have helped for the upcoming flu season when your LO is most susceptible!" Oops.
LO will be 6 months when the flu season starts winding down. lol.
Last year only 18 people died from the flu (or from consequences from the flu), the year before 122 people died. This year, we already have 8 dead in Boston and atleast another 7 in Massachusets. That's the only death tolls that were listed in the article I was reading and when I was watching the news. I'm sure there are more. We are off to a bad start. I guess the A strain happened this year and that is the nasty one that is giving everyone a tough time.
