Gun nuts

As someone who knows nothing about guns but is writing a book about a paranormal investigator and assassin, I'm just wondering what kind of shotgun you would use to kill a werewolf?

I totally just googled that  and as long as you have silver bullets you're good...doesn't seem like the type of gun matters.

However... shotguns dont shoot bullets only buck shot or slugs... might want to use a rifle. 30.06 are pretty popular

But I have him sitting at a doorway clutching a gun because he thinks they're about to be attacked at any minute due to his 'sidekicks' snoring ... he's a bit of a paranoid bastard.

So shotguns for vampires, merpeople, and sirens .... rifles for werewolves because they need silver bullets.

If you need bullets rifles or pistols.. but as a gun lover.. id grab a rifle for a werewolf

Ok cool ... he's definitely a bigger is better kind of boy (in every aspect of his life). So definitely rifle.

Which rifle would be powerful enough to take out a werewolf but not so powerful that you wouldn't get a fight out of the damn thing. Its a pretty useless storyline if they've got weaponry that will just kill everything before they get to fight it.

In real life... a .22 but if hes a larger than life dude... he wont bring a .22 lol. perhaps he could have a 30.06 and be nervous and shoot.. but not make a leathal first shot for your fight scene?

He was working as a assassin for a vampire clan for 5 years and he's currently been working as a free-lance assassin for a secret division of the British government for 3 years. I don't really know if he would be a nervous shot ... unless he wasn't used to the rifle itself.

Even an assasin would make a kill shot.

Maybe he could be unfamilar with the gun.. and they fight BEFORE he shoots?

Yeah I might have that he's used to a .22.

Also what is the best kind of hand gun? I need to have him cleaning a gun in bed in the scene I'm writing.

A man like you are discribing will likely have a 1911 cambered in a .45
