SO in prison

Anyone else in this position? SO is in prison, he had a court date yesterday and two more next week. With the charges he has and his criminal history I'm gonna say that he will be away for at least a couple of years... I can't make his bail it is way way way too high. Our LO is 3 months old. He is going to miss everything- her first words, her first steps, all of it. It's all his fault and I know that in my head but my heart is so sad. I want him here with us but I know that prison is the best place for him right now. At least he can get clean and he is safe and I know where he is, he's off the streets.

I really need some momma's to talk to. I wasn't expecting to have to raise my daughter on my own and I'm so scared and mad and just everything.....

I've never been in that position, but I can imagine how tough it is for you. Hang in there, mama!

Sorry to hear......I couldnt imagine going through that. My oldest dd just chose to not be around and that was hard enough.

Being a single mom was/is one of my greatest fears. Me and SO broke up during my pregnancy but I think it was the thought of single parenthood that brought us back together.

A larcany 3 that he has an FTA on, another larcany 3 and conspiracy to commit larcany that he also has an FTA on, a wreckless endangerment and taking a vehicle without the owner's permission.

It's been one of mine and now look, I am. Basically. I mean I will be at his court dates and visit him and write and talk on the phone.... but he is there and I am here. I am doing this on my own from now on and it terrifies me.

My DD's dad and I broke up when I was pregnant, so I was going to be a single mom anyways....when she was 2 months old he got arrested and is now serving life in prison. She's 4 months now and I've done it alone since the day she was born. You can do it, keep your head up.  

I am not in that position but that must be tuff. This happend to one of my best friends, her man got 20 years. I saw the pain she was in it was horrible she became pregnant then bam he went to prison she was alone her whole pregnancy and everything. Just stay strong, sorry I don't have much advice.

Do you have a good support system at home? Friends, family, ect?

He was the best dad that he could be before he left.... he loves her. I just can't believe this.
