He started getting into his faith more and said he realised porn was wrong and he didn't want to lust after other women. When he told me I honestly didn't think he was serious. I thought it was a joke or something, but now i've realised just how dead serious he is about it.

Awwwe.

We have started viewing the concept of porn from a religious perspective recently as well which helps. We kind of see it as disrespectful to each other because we want to only view each other and not get off to someone else.

Mine but that might be because if I'm not here, the kids usually are.

I can understand it from a religious point of view but other tat and having an agreement not too yeah I just assumed every guy does regularly, ah well

Well DH hasn't been hasn't been single since he was 15 and has been having regular sex since then so perhaps that explains it lol

My SO was single a while before me and threw his 3 films he had out when we moved in cause he didnt want me to know he had watch them in the past, only to kick himself when I said I didn't care about him owning them lol. But for a couple who have almost 4 kids, every relationship is different and different men/woman have different needs.

My dh is pretty much athiest. He says that he doesn't find it appealing because it is someone's daughter,/wife/mother/sister who likely wouldnt 'be doing this unless she needed the cash seriously & too many have issues with addiction or whatnot...like he believes as a whole that the sex industry is an exploitative industry that takes advantage of people (mostly women) & doesn't find it appealing to partake. I imagine he has seen porn, but not that I've ever seen. He is overall though like that about a lot of things...so we buy free trade stuff, shop local, organic, buy things made from local craftspersons when we can, etc, etc. I totally agree with him, but he isn't religious about his reasoning at all as he isn't religious in any sense of that word. He is just very consistent in the way he lives in general, much more so than me even.

Just curious. I write erotica (as in book form), and have been told several times by various publishers and other writers that I'm involved in the 'sex industry'. I'm just curious how your husband would think of erotica and the people that write it.

I can ask for sure, but I think (and have known him 20 yrs now so I am a fair judge of what his likely response would be) that he would think that is one of the few areas that is fine since no one is pressured into anything they don't actually feel comfortable with & no one is exploited, to my knowledge anyway no one is exploited. For instance, Dh had no problem with me posing for a life drawing class nude...because it was well paid & the class was about drawing the human form. It isn't about getting young girls in there to treat them like sex objects & many life drawing models are all ages & genders. He also isn't opposed to arousal from outside sources (this isn't any issue to do with whether or not it is ethical to get aroused by someone or something else), it is about whether it is truly a healthy industry/occupation. I can certainly ask him what he thinks about writing erotica. Is the industry reputable as a whole, like are you treated well/paid accordingly, etc? I really have never given that industry much thought in regard to whether they have fair business practices so I have no idea....

Nope, not weird. My Dh watched a lot of porn when he was 16/17 and got his first computer. Then he got burned out and lost interest. Ever since it pretty much does nothing for him except make him laugh and imitate the goofy noises they make.

You would be amazed at some of the things I make my characters do that they're not comfortable with  .

As for being paid currently I don't get paid at all, if this novel gets through the last hurdle of being published I'll be getting around 23% royalties which is pretty good for the industry.

I dunno about them being pressured into, some people just enjoy that stuff. It takes all types of people in the world.

It does but you can't tell the difference...so whether one woman does it because she loves it & another does it because she is pressured or feels like she has to in order to keep her addiction up or whatever...

I've known people in the industry, a few have been close friends. They will certainly tell you there is a lot of messed up smurf there. Is it everyone? No - can you tell whose who? Absolutely not from the customer's side of it. Just like you can't look at a garment & tell which was was made in a sweat shop. The difference being, you do have to wear clothes, so you do the best you can to buy free trade...or thrift (like we do). LOL You dont' ahve to do anything with that industry at all - so no need to try to figure out whose an exhibitionist & whose got issues that brought them here.

  my DH watches it, but never on his phone. the only time he ever does it is when he gets off early from work and no one is home... then he'll try and erase it, but someone how always seems to forget one thing, so then I poke fun at him! LOL.
