i am wanting to know from those mummys who had BACK labour, where they timetable or was it just a constant aching agonising pain that never seemed to let up hardly at all??, ive had front contractions but are hard to time as my back has been in so much pain also, im too early to be having my little girl as yet but am at risk of pre term, the l&d want me to time them for an hour.

I can only speak for myself but I could only feel it when I was contracting and I could time them.

Good luck.

The pain was in waves at first, then turned pretty constant with waves of intensity. Toward the end it was almost constant back pain and when it was a "real" contraction I could feel it around my sides and bottom of my tummy.
Try having a glass of water and getting as comfortable as possible and, i know it will suck, but focus on the pain. Concentrate on if you can feel it get worse, or a tightening in any other areas. If it doesn't let up soon, I would def go in. Speaking as a preemie mom as well, I know it is no fun and we want to keep your LO in as long as possible! And IF you are in ptl, the sooner you get to the hospital, the faster they can stop it.

I'd go to L&D. I couldn't time them at all, I just had pain, pain, pain. When i went in they said I was having extra long contractions (some lasting longer than 7 mins). :/ But no - I could not tell when one started or stopped.....all I felt was pain, pain, pain.

thankyou, i have been having pains in the front of my belly but not crippling and alot of tightening for the last 8 hours on top of the constant back pain, i tried to time the front ones but they seem to be 3 to 4 minutes long and hard to tell when they have stopped with the back pain. with my son i had all front labour so was a completely different experience in everyway to this pregnancy and how i feel right now. i am trying to make sure im not being silly as i am a single mum with a 4 yr old son and no car and family all live away and my partner and i kind of parted ways yesterday which could be stress induced, will drink a big glass of water and see if they go away otherwise yes i will have to get my bum to l&d just to be safe   pretty scary i must say but i want her to stay in as long as i possibly can keep her there
