Hair straightening advice

I've just bought the in styler, it's a flat iron but with a rotating barrel.
I can't seem to get good results, does anyone have tips?!? It's stupid.
Also does straightening stuff- including at gone ones contain fermaldahyde (sp)

I have that and I hate it.

I wanted to get it so bad, the infomercials made it seem cool and awesome, read about 5 pages on reviews and they all said it sucks.

My friend is half black and half white. I use my instyler on her and it works. You just have to do it really slowly.

Ugh my mom had an Instyler and I found it to be a pos. I have a Neo, I got it at winners for $40 (any of the straighteners there are quite good quality) previously I had a corioliss($180) and this one is exactly the same with a different name on it. Works like a charm.
As for the hair product I use bed head control freak and as far as what it says on the bottle it doesn't have formaldehyde in it.

I had one, threw it away because it sucked.
I get way better results with my regular straightener.

Why?
For me it's like it doesn't finish the hair well, it's not a glossy finish. With a flat iron the results last for days but the installer looks like I've been in a humid environment.
I thought maybe I was doing something wrong!

My hair is super curly but very fine, I wash and straighten it twice a week- it's dry ish and it holds straight. It's like the installer smurfs it

I'm going to try it slower tomorrow!

Re phameldahyde (sp) I use the Brazilian at home one, you basically burn it into your hair, it says no formaldehyde but I was told its all lies!

My instyler sucked. My dad bought one for me and one for my mom. We both have almost straight hair and all it did was frizz it up. And I hated how much noise it made! So annoying. Anyways we tried it on a friend who had curly hair and it broke, the srcew from the top came out. I threw the other one away.
