Insurance cover diapers?

posted 12th Jan
At what age? My three year, 4 month old is not close to potty training and I'm wondering at what point can the dr. Write a prescription and the insurance fill it?

senior citizen? I've never heard of insurance paying for diapers unless there is a physiological reason for the incontinence.

No. Disposables. I know they will cover it, but not sure when?

He's not a BABY. He's a disabled toddler. And he's probably not going to be able to be trained until 5 or later. And I think this is a protected forum?

My sister has a special needs child and since he is mobile they will not cover them. A friend of mine has a son who was SBS and his are covered b/c he is confined to a wheel chair and can not communicate at all.

I know they do that for special needs children. As my brother in law (5 years old) has autism and gets diapers/wipes for free. Other than that if they have no real disability, you are on your own like every other parent. Not sure why insurance would cover them otherwise. Never heard of that in my life

this is what I was meaning about the physiological reason. The person is unable to acknowledge when they need to go and unable to make it to the bathroom.

My besties son just got a prescription and a shipment. I was like what? That's possible? So I'm trying to find out about it.

Ohhhh I'm a douchebag. I didn't know that your child was special needs. I thought you were just asking for a way to have insurance pay for your child's diapers, randomly. Forgive my ignorance.

As far as legitimate advice, this is not something I know about, but I'm sure that your pediatrician would be able to give you some insight.
