my babys belly button

my baby is 1 week old and his cord thing hasnt fallen off yet but i know its not suppose to so soon but it has a slight lil smell to it but is not red or leaking any fluid from it the doctor said as long as its not doin none of that its fine but????

It's fine my sons stunk a little bit too.

is it yellowish? I remember my daughers turning yellow before it falls off.. and it can smell a little but it shouldn't be very strong. If it is worrying you, you can always call and see what the pedi has to say..

I believe you have to see the doctor if by 3 weeks it hasnt fallen off yet.

For the smell, you can wash around it with a q-tip. Rubbing alcohol might help take the smell away, too, but not necessary.

My first two kids lost theirs around day 7. I was getting worried about LO as his hadn't fallen off yet (2weeks old) but it fell off today. Iv never noticed a smell from it.
Is it weird that I kept all 3 clamps and the little bit of cord? Lol

Nope! I kept all that plus his circumcision ring.
