I highly reccommend doing a little more research, because your hospital is very sorely mistaken. Hell, the March of Dimes is pushing for anything before 39 weeks to be deemed 'preemie' and rightfully so in my opinion. There is so much critical development going on in the last two months of pregnancy that one week can make a HUGE difference in having a healthy or sick baby.

Nope..not my kid not my problem is what I'm going to have to say to this whole thing. I'm not opposed to learning new things and finding out that sometimes drs. can and will be wrong. I think that people feel like just because the DR said so means its right. Heck my own dr. always says to research what he says and not to take his word 100%. Medicine is always evolving and growing and changing.

You would probably be better off with a c-section.

Would having a Csection be a possiblity for you if so with your help issues i would consider doing that.. less risk to you in the end??
and yes some people on here are very rude but like i had said they are so used to seeing the post about just wanting the baby out for the sake of having the baby out.

yea it could be off by 2 but for some reason the hospital doesn't like to let woman go over more then a few days..some hospitals will go up to 2 weeks yes I know. I didn't say docs don't want you to go 40weeks but I was told that if your hit 37weeks it was still considered full term. I was 38 with my second she even had to wear premie cloths but when I have to fill out paper work I always have to ask what do you consider full term and they say anything after 37weeks. I wasn't try to make anyone made, just a different fact then others..my goodness. lol.

Mine says the same thing. If he doesn't know an answer to a question I have or concern, he will look it up for me or call the other OB he works with.

Your awesome medical team is taking you down a road that could kill you. I never claimed to know everything, I just have a lot of what you are laccking: common sense. I'm sure we all have enough to spare if you are interested in acquiring some.

well my goodness that hospital is a mess. 37 weeks is term and 40+ is FULL term.

Haha. This made me lol

But in all seriousness, I would not want a natural birth if it could kill me. C-section alllllll the way.

My doctor asked me to please stay with him because he'd never had a patient with protein c deficiency. I was so amazed because they initially weren't going to see me because I was supposedly too far along.

Neither would I.
If I remember right, there have been a couple of women here on BG who had aneurysms and were automatic c-sections simply because labor could cause them to rupture. Just knowing that little bubble could burst from stress would have me begging for general anesthesia annd a c-section

Not what you wanted, but definitely what you needed.
Not that you care, however. You're still going to go on trying to induce yourself for selfish and medically unfounded reasons.

Here's a little tip for you...a crochet hook is just like an amnio hook. Just go ahead and break your own amniotic sac. It'll save you even more time

i was like you are - i tried to rush the end of my pregnancy. make sure to enjoy every last minute of being pregnant because once you deliver your baby, you're going to miss being pregnant. honestly, i just want to cry because i miss it everyday; the kicks, the comments from people, the symptoms (sounds weird) and every other little thing about it. the next week will go by slow, but once you deliver you'll wonder where the time went.

personally, i don't think any of the above things help quicken labour. i had a membrane sweep and not even 2 days after i went into labour. i was only 39w+1 day when my baby boy arrived.

i don't understand why people on here critisize others for getting membrane sweeps earlier than 40 weeks. i had one a week before my due date, delivered and my boy was 7lbs 15oz.
