I had one, its not too bad, its some cramping, but I had an allergic reaction to the dye, after the fact, I got a nasty infection, that I almost got put in the hospital for. I was in a ton of pain 2 days later, and I got put on some strong antibiotics, what happened to me is a rare case though.

I do hysteros.

Like the pp said, what happened to her was rare.
Normally you will experience some mild cramping. You will be given an antibiotic and some mild pain relief. I have done countless hysteros, and very few women have trouble with it. Those who do generally come in with high anxiety.

Here's the thing though, more often than not, women get back to their negative cycle and are able to conceive after the procedure rather quickly because the hystero opens up the Fallopian tubes. Most common problem I see during the exam is blocked tubes. So be excited! Hysteros are minimally invasive an provide excellent results!

I just read my post! Regular, not negative cycles!!!

Your Rad or nurse practitioner will guide you through the whole thing. She will tell you what she sees, and you will most likely leave with a complete diagnosis. That's the wonderful thing about fluoro!

Good luck and just relax! Take it like a Pap smear! Slightly more invasive, I know, but it is anxiety that causes the most problems!
