Marijuana and your teenager!

Just being curious. At what age would you be ok with your child experimenting with pot? If you're pro-ganja, would you smoke with them? If you're not ok with it, what would you do to punish them?

I am not "pro pot" but I am not "anti pot" either. It's just not for me. Once my child is out of my house it is there choice. Until then they will not be allowed.
My parents smoked weed all of my life and still do. They would never smoke with me even if I did now because that is just weird. I wouldn't feel comfortable anyways.

I would never be okay with my TEENAGER doing drugs or drinking. How I would punish him would depend on what kind of a teenager he is... Whether it be friends, video games, cell phone, tv... etc.

When it becomes illegal OR

They turn 18 AND they no longer live under my roof.


I've smoked it. I was an adult in my own home with no minors present.

There isn't some arbitrary age. If my teens were responsible and I felt they had the ability to make sound choices and understand the consequences of their actions, I wouldn't stop them from experimenting. I would not encourage them to start using.

When it becomes legal. I will never tell my teenager it's okay.
Once they are 18 an out of my house idc really, rather them do weed than crack in the long run. Rather them do nothing at all preferably though.

I'd never be okay with it. As a parent it's your job to discipline your child when you find them using drugs. That's not something I want my child to think is okay. Regardless of whether or not it's a normal thing for kids to do.

My opinion is that if its against the law, I wouldnt do it. I wouldnt buy my teenagaer alcohol, but wouldnt mind once they are of age. Most states say pot is criminal, but even in the few states its not, it still is for children under 18. JMO oh and I am not anti-pot either.

I was 13 the first time I smoked weed. (Yeah yeah, super young, I know. Lol.) I don't smoke anymore but I'm not against it. I don't know that I would be "okay" with my kids smoking it at any age before they're adults but I won't lose my smurf about it. I'd honestly prefer them to smoke at home if they're going to smoke. I did some seriously stupid smurf when I was high, almost got hurt a few times too. So I'd rather know they're safe in my home than out somewhere doing something that might be dangerous.

I'd prefer them to be of legal adult age. Preferably old enough to understand it's not cool to just get wasted for the sake of getting wasted and sit around being worthless.

Eh don't know yet. SOs parents have been smoking with him since he was 15. I don't smoke pot but I'm sure at a certain age I wouldn't care as long as they are still following my rules either while under my roof or visiting the house.

It's just pot. Not that big of deal IMO

in some state's its perfectly legal. I'm going to explain to them my experience with pot and let them make their own choice. I want them to tell me when they do it. As long as I know they are doing it, I'm fine. AS LONG as it doesn't interfere with school work etc. I'd say 15 or 16 is the Ok age. I personally don't like the effects of pot, so I won't smoke it with them, but I have family who does and I'd send them there, where I know they would be safe and have access to clean organic goods.

Any age after 14-15. I started smoking pot at 11-12 yrs old and did till I was well an adult, lol its been some years now that I havent.

I am all for it being legalized everywhere. As long as school was being attended and work was being done and not falling behind in it. I am 100% ok with it.

Hmmm... maybe 16? I dont smoke myself but have NO qualms with it as long as you are responsible.

Id much rather Lily use a mj salve or something to help pain than a pain pill. I am all for the edibles, tinctures, etc... you dont HAVE to smoke it.

And if she wants to ingest in order to chill out... sure. Do your homework, stay home, and Im good. My parents let me when I was younger but then I grew to not like it.

I wouldn't flip out about it an almost any age...but I am not going to "let them" do anything that is illegal. I will tell them not to & why & all of that, I am not sure what I'd do if I caught them doing it. I do not smoke, haven't for ages, but used to & loved it. Then I started to actually care about things like keeping a clean record, or holding down a good paying job & not loosing it to a random drug test, so I stopped before it ever caused me any problems....

As to what I would do...not sure at all. I think it would at least in part depend on the totality of the situation.
