Potty training soon?

DD sits on the potty sometimes while Im using the bathroom. She goes in it sometimes, not on a regular basis. Now when she poops in her diaper she will tell us and same when she pees. She still isn't putting together urge to potty=use the potty or tell us, but it's a start. She doesn't tell us before she goes, but after she does.

She is really into our reward system for helping clean up and brushing her teeth. Maybe get her super excited to pick out some big girl panties and do a potty chart? Is it too soon to go that step?

Tips and suggestions appreciated!

She's almost 23 months so I know it's not the end of the world if she isn't getting it yet.

Honestly I never pushed my kids to use the potty. They both decided one day that is what they wanted to do and that was the end of diapers.

I did a sticker reward system with my son. He got one sticker for peeing, two for pooping. Then when he got ten stickers, he would get to pick out a treat or a toy from the store. Worked like a charm!

Heck yeah. Im thinking that will be DDs route as well, which is fine by me. She did that with sippies. She hated them and hated them then one day it was like..well alright and never wanted a bottle again.

lol that is How Cylus was with his bottle. Seriously though I went ahead and bought the potty and underwear and one day my babies wanted the underwear instead of the diapers. I always keep a stash of diapers during the winter for if they get sick and get the runs.

Awesome! You mention earning a sticker to DD and she is the happiest kid on earth. Its worth a shot.

Good idea. I think Ill give it a try.  

Same situation here.. The boys just decided it was time themselves. They always were interested in the potty and would occasionally go but it was never something I really pushed. Then I slowly introduced undies and let them experience the feel of that. Then one day they were completely potty trained.
