My cousin and his wife were kind of in the same situation.
She has some sort of genetic thing that only 1 in every 5 pregnancies is viable, I forgot what it's called, some sort of blood issue I think?

Anywho. She had four miscarriages, and then had a healthy baby boy. They didn't use protection because they didn't want to take any chances smurfing up her fertility because they wanted at least one more, and it was already so hard for her to conceive/carry a healthy pregnancy.
Well, she got pregnant right before her son turned 11 months old, and now has a healthy baby girl, too.

They're 18 or 19 months apart, and she loves the age difference. It was hard at first, but now the youngest is almost 1 and a half and the oldest is almost 3, and they play together and are best friends.
