really now? im going to be having another baby in 2.5 weeks and you thought it was a great idea to buy my 3 year old a drum set? SERIOUSLY?? your reasoning, because you can. REALLY? go smurf yourself.

Do you not have some where for your child to play the drums outside? I don't see the big deal. Enforce rules, it's pretty simple.

If you're upset about it, don't put it out/put it together until things have settled once baby comes home.

So set rules for when and where they can be played and if they arent followed take the drums away.

My dad bought my daughter and Elmo drum set for Christmas in 2011.

They aren't that loud. (Not hers anyways).

I think my daughter got the same set for her birthday. She broke them in like 3 weeks.

My next door neighbor's 2 year old broke my daughter's drum set. It was an accident of course, so I didn't see it as a big deal. (Accidents happen). She is still able to play with the "Bass" part of the drum, so she isn't broken hearted about it.

New babies should get used to noise,

And older siblings should learn to be mindful when they *need* to tone down their noise level.

My kids have a drum set, they have to get permission to use it and it's set up in the playroom. The rules will be the same when the baby comes.

i think what pisses me off the most is the fact i told her not to do it. we got into a whole argument about it. so she waits a week after we move, dont even have anything put away yet, and buys it for him anyway. i really dont care if its not nice. it really wasnt nice of her to get the set after i told her not to.

Well, take it back if you truly feel like it was an unsuitable gift for your child. I would just make sure that you let her know that you took it back.
