no crib :(

posted 11th Jan
DH took DD's old crib out from the attic to set up for the baby and, well, DH had forgotten he threw the front part of the crib away a few years ago. he baby will be here in 6 days or less and we have no crib. Can't afford to buy one till the end of the month. Looks like DH will be sleeping on the couch till we can afford one.

DD didn't start using her crib till she was around 3 months. I had originally planned on not co sleeping and putting her in the crib from day one but it was just easier to co sleep.

Maybe you could find like a second hand snuggle nest? So you could cosleep safely with your guy too...

My Mom/grandparents bought me a expensive ass crib that I have never used....its just sitting in the garage...I liked cosleeping too much :]. I feel bad now tho cuz she spent all that money

Do you have a swing? I put my 2 lil ones in the swing til they were older. It was great because it fit next to the bed.

I understand how you feel. with my 13 month old I did not have a crib when she was born, but was able to get a bassinet and my baby was sleeping on it until she was one month old that my family bough her her crib.

DD slept in a 45 dollar bassinet from Walmart with wheels on it for the first 3 months. Loved that thing

I do have a pack n play but to move it back and forth to the living room would be a pain. Plus, it would need to be lifted up (or broken down) to get into our room. I have something like a swing but we.have a bastard cat so I refuse to let the baby sleep in the swing while I'm sleeping. And I hate co sleeping. My.bed is for me and DH only. Also, DH can't do it and I was never able to sleep when I tried.co sleeping with DD.when she was a baby. But I probably won't.have a choice.but.to co sleep for.awhile.

Sorry for.all the.periods. I hate typing.on my phone!

That's why I loved the bassinet I got. It had wheels, I just wheeled her all around the house with me lol

Even those types of bassibets won't fit between my bed and dresser. It would need to be lifted. I have a very small bedroom. Plus, I really don't want to spend $50 on something we can only use for 2-3 months

I had one from walmart for DS and I am getting one for this baby too. DS slept in it untill he was 6 months, and I freaking loved that thing!! I wish I wouldnt have gave it to my friend now, but I had no idea that I'd be having a baby this soon lol.

Look at consignment stores, Craigslist or Freecycle.

I always see baby stuff on Freecycle.

You can also easily make a temporary bassinet with a laundry hamper like we did in the old days! ;)
