I think I am done bfing

Well I think the time has come. I am just getting a little tired of it. I keep getting thrush and I think the bfing is messing with my hormones so I won't stop breaking out. It is pissing me off. Will seems to love it and I really don't mind it. (I did love it) I would keep on trucking I think if it wasnt for the reasons i stated. So the grocery bill will go up like 30 bucks a month. That isnt a big deal. I have been cutting his nursing times down by a few min each time. He hasn't noticed. Thats a good thing. Maybe by the time I leave him for a whole day my milk will be dried up! I won't be bfing any more ofter this.

I remember hitting the point when I realized I was done. Sometimes I miss it but those moments are few and far between. I got to a point where I hated it and I dont think I ever truly enjoyed it.

i used to love it. I will miss nursing before bed... but i think we can just cuddle instead. i still don't mind it.. i just dont love it like i used to. i think the time has just come. Dave and i are set to go to 2 weddings this year a few theater shows and im going to be gone to horse shows this summer and i want to get my tummy done soon so it just seems right.

Maybe just keep nursing before bed and supplement with formula the rest of the time? Once your milk adjusts I bet your hormones would get back in order.

Just out of curiosity, how old is your child?

I love the idea of having my children wean on their own but if I ever get to the point that I really dislike it and little changes do not help I will initiate weaning  .

he is 18 months. my hormones are pretty used to bfing. and he drinks whole milk. lol. i guess i forget to mention that.

Congrats for making it so far. I only made it to 9 months. Nothing wrong with deciding its time to wean.

when he was younger we had trushs non stop (now it is only me who gets it so thats helpful) and when we didnt have thrush i had mastitis. Will does just fine when he isnt with normally. daddy puts him down for afternoon nap on saturdays when i go riding and he zonks no problem. he also has had some times to go to sleep with out nursing at night and he went out no problem. it is just a tad bitter sweet to stop. after a year and a half i dont mind stopping... but he is my last baby so we are gaduating and it is a little sad. lol

with the twins i lost my suppy at 6 months. i was determind to make it 1 year with will... then i just wasnt ready to stop. I am still not sure if i am or not but after my last fight with thrush i just think it is time. plus it doesnt seem will is going to mind.

Katy wasnt phased at all when I quit. I tried to get her to nurse the other week when she was sick (we only stopped 2 months ago) and she had like no idea what to do wouldnt even latch. That kinda broke my heart.
