I would do it early yes just to be safe. And if I'd ever celebrated my birthday and had to share it, I'd have been bitter and pissed honestly unless I was born on the same day as the person.

I would take her out before. My sister and I have birthdays six days apart. We did joint birthdays for a long time and it never bothered me

My brother and I's birthdays are 3 days apart (well, and 2 years). We always did joint family parties, but when we were old enough to invite friends we did separate parties for friends.

Oh! And we never had an issue with the joint parties. My bro and I are pretty close.

This is how I would feel also.

My 12 year old SD and my 3 your old DD have the same birthday. I was due 12/12 but I wasn't showing any signs and the midwife offered to induce me the night of the 15 so we knew it would be the same day.

She was living in another country at the time so we didn't have to worry about doing more than calling her and wishing her a happy birthday. We always do their birthdays together though. My SD prefers it that way and actually calls DD her birthday present.

Quoting Salad Fingers:" See my sister's birthday is 3 days before me, but she's also 14 years older than me. She was married ... [snip!] ... her 3rd baby and my 1st and I felt it was a little unfair to me because she had already done it before and it was my first. "

I'm just selfish and NOTHING has ever been about me when it was for me like my graduation and stuff like that, so the idea of having to share something ugghhh.. Though I must say my son's party when he was 3 months my mom had for him wasn't too bad. I expected her to make it about her a lot more. Though I did have to tell her if it was for us it should be things WE like not her.

I would do a birthday together if they were within a week of each other...maybe even the same month...

I know personally I wouldnt like it, im a single child and a brat BUT if I was raised with siblings and shared birthdays from the start I probably would just think its normal and not care.

I would celebrate the birthday early although u still risk going into labor early and having to cancel it. *Please* if you can financially afford to have two seperate parties for your children, do that. My brothers bday is super close to mine and some years we had to share a birthday party due to finances and although I understood, I HATED it and so did my brother.

Why did you hate it? I don't get what the big deal is at ALL.

It was a big deal to me because I had to share everything party related with him. Not the presents of course. But like decorations, food, the cake, and games. Like if I wanted a Princess party I couldn't do that cuz it was too girly and if he wanted a Thomas the train theme he couldn't cuz it was too babyish (were about 4 years apart) al wed have to settle with something neither of us really wanted. My mom would only make one type of food for the party (besides snack food) and one cake so just like the decorations if I wanted pizza and he wanted cheeseburgers wed have to compromise by picking something completely different. I like choc cake he likes

***he likes vanilla. So wed end up with some kinda marble cake. Just stupid stuff like that. Like I said though as a kid I hated it. As an adult I know why it was like that (financially)

I'd say that's a big fault of your parents. We always had our own cakes.
